ALTON, Va. & HOLBROOK, N.Y. -- The Skip Barber Racing School is proud to announce the hiring of James Burke to the position of President of Racing Schools & Race Series. James brings over three decades of experience in motorsports and racing schools to the Skip Barber team. Prior to joining Skip Barber, James was a key leader at the Ford Performance Racing School, serving as its Lead Instructor for nearly two decades, eventually rising to the role of Program Manager. Additionally, James carries an impressive racing resume that started with karting at the age of eight before time in a variety of cars ranging from NASA TT2 to a 1959 Lister Jaguar once piloted by Sir Stirling Moss at the Classic Le Mans. “I’m truly honored to join the Skip Barber Racing School” James said. “It stands as one of the most iconic and influential racing schools in America, and that legacy deserves to be respected, protected, and carried forward. Skip Barber was built on the belief that race craft can be taught — and taught the right way. My responsibility is to honor that foundation while supporting the people who make the experience exceptional.” As President of Racing Schools & Race Series, James will oversee the operation and execution of programs on tracks across the country. In 2026 alone, Skip Barber will spend over 100 days at a racetrack with programs ranging from retail schools to private corporate events. “The addition of James to our team will help us to ensure we continue to deliver instruction that is worthy of the Skip Barber name,” Skip Barber Racing School Chief Executive Officer, Anthony DeMonte, said. “James’ expertise with multiple facets of the racing and training industry made him a natural fit for this role and I’m confident he will excel.” Alongside his experience with racing schools James spent 15 years as a Manager and Team Principal for various racing teams. In those roles, he worked closely with drivers, engineers, and mechanics to optimize car setup, performance, and race strategy, while also providing leadership and professional development training to staff and contractors. “When someone comes to Skip Barber, they’re trusting us with their growth as a driver.
