Skip Barber Racing Scores Big in Sebring

Skip Barber Racing earned a pair of podium finishes in TC America powered by the Skip Barber Racing School and two top five finishes in GT4 America with Alex and Michael Garcia. The weekend also saw the debut for Skip Barber Race Series Director Mike Ogren. After overseeing Round 3 of the Skip Barber Race Series at VIRginia International on Wednesday, Ogren caught a flight to Florida and strapped into the No. 07 Sebring International Golf Resort Acura Integra Type S on Thursday morning. He wasted no time coming up to speed as he laid down the second fastest time of the opening practice session. Skip Barber Race Series Director Mike Ogren Ogren kept improving throughout the weekend and started Race 1 from the front row, eventually earning a podium finish in his maiden race. He followed his Race 1 performance with another second-place finish in Race 2. “I’m extremely grateful to everyone at Sebring International Golf Resort and Skip Barber for the opportunity to race at my home track,” Ogren said. It’s a testament to the team that we were so consistent and near the front of the field and I’m very proud to bring home two trophies as a result.” Racing alongside Ogren in TC America powered by the Skip Barber Racing School was James Klimas in the No. 61 Middletown Toyota GR Corolla TC. As a result of Ogren and Klimas’ efforts in the trio of races, Skip Barber Racing expanded the gap between itself and third place in the TC America Team’s Championship. In GT4 America, Skip Barber Racing sits in fourth place in the AM Championship, the largest of the three classes. Alex and Michael Garcia guided the No. 07 PolePace Aston Martin Vantage GT4 to a pair of top five finishes over the weekend. Alex (L) and Michael (R) Garca meet with OKC's Julian Vincent (C). The Garcia brothers had the pleasure of welcoming karters from the Orlando Kart Center. The pair spent some time with the rising stars discussing their Aston Martin Vantage GT4 and the ways that the Skip Barber Racing School can help them advance their burgeoning racing careers.
