Skip Barber Racing will take on the high banks of Daytona for a pair of endurance races as part of the 2026 World Racing League season. After a second-place finish at Road America, the team of all-rookie drivers is rapidly closing in on their maiden victory. The team also enters this weekend in the midst of a championship battle with a narrow, one-point, lead in the GP2 East Championship. “I’m very excited to race at Daytona where there’s so much history and where so many legends have raced before me,” Dylan Weber said. “The banking in a little GR Cup car is going to feel awesome, and I can’t wait to experience that. “I feel like the season is progressing really well and I am definitely going into this race with confidence and the goal of finishing first or at least getting a podium. We have a championship to fight for, and I know the boys and I are ready to get us there!” Alongside Weber will be Saverio Striglia III and Ryan Emani. The three drivers, all of whom are in their first year of sanctioned racing, have impressed mightily since the beginning of the season. The trio all rose through the ranks of Skip Barber Racing School programs and are well on their way to becoming the next examples of Skip Barber’s Where Drivers Become Champions motto. “A lot of work has gone into getting the car back in shape for Daytona, and I’m really proud of the effort from everyone involved and mostly for how our school graduates have stepped up successfully into competitive racing,” Skip Barber Racing Team Manager Gabriel Gonzalez said. “The focus now is on executing a clean, strong weekend, collecting as many points as possible, continuing to protect our position in the championship fights and further developing our drivers.” This weekend the team is set for a single, 14-hour, race which will begin at 8am on Saturday and conclude under the lights at Daytona.
