Skip Barber Racing’s rookie trio of drivers scored a pair of top-five finishes in their first weekend of professional racing at Barber Motorsports Park. Saverio Striglia III, Dylan Weber, and Ryan Emani combined to finish fourth in Saturday’s eight-hour race. One day later they proved that result to be no fluke, finishing fifth in-class. Additionally, Logan Anderson and Robert Mosteller made their WRL debut in the GTO class with an Aston Martin Vantage GT4. Over the course of the two races, Striglia, Weber, and Emani gained 34 positions including moving up 18 spots overall in Saturday’s race – a remarkable achievement for the three drivers who were all making their first start in an officially-sanctioned race event. “Watching those three guys work this weekend was an amazing thing to see,” Skip Barber Racing Team Manager Joe Monitto said. “They did an amazing job slicing through the field and moving up the timing screen. I’m so happy for them and I can’t wait to get back out there with them. They’re going to be fighting for victories later this season.” In Race 2, Striglia, Weber, and Emani moved up 16 spots to finish fifth in the No. 216 Toyota GR Cup car. Leaving Alabama, Skip Barber Racing is fifth in the GP2 East Championship standings.
