Last week at Sebring International Raceway, Taylor Ferns completed our Three-Day Formula Racing School, her first venture into road racing. Ferns was the first woman to stand on a USAC Silver Crown podium and holds the USAC record for most career starts by a woman. She has collected multiple wins in both USAC midget and sprint car events. Ferns arrived at the Skip Barber Racing School courtesy of our friends at Women in Motorsports North America and WIMNA co-founder Lyn St. James. St. James is a graduate of the Skip Barber Racing School herself. Ferns is an ambassador with WIMNA. "I thought my time at the Skip Barber Racing School was invaluable. Ferns has a promising future in a more traditional career field alongside her racing career. The 27-year-old is currently in her third year as a student at Wayne State University Law School, a top-100 law school in US News & World Reports's list. Her pursuit of a law degree comes after she earned her Master of Business Administration. When she's not at the track, she works as an operations manager at the Sam Bernstein Law Firm, which also serves as the primary sponsor for her racing career. Drive Sebring.
