Our relationship with Ross Chastain began with a simple Google search, Chastain himself explained. With the NASCAR Cup Series expanding its road course portfolio, Chastain was looking for a way to improve his speed and he found it with Skip Barber. After spending time with our coaches at Circuit of the Americas, our friendship only strengthened. Skip Barber Racing School CEO Anthony DeMonte invited Chastain to Road Atlanta later in the year for another round of coaching. That was followed by a third session at Sonoma Raceway. “As simple as it sounds turning left actually seems really natural to me but turning right doesn’t, so Skip Barber has been the way that I’ve been trying to be better at turning right,” Chastain explained in the leadup to the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Sonoma. Sonoma would be the first of two NASCAR Xfinity races that Chastain’s #91 DGM Racing Chevrolet Camaro would wear the Skip Barber Racing School colors. The second event was this past weekend’s Pennzoil 150 at the Brickyard where Chastain qualified the car inside the top ten in a difficult qualifying session on a slightly damp track. As part of that partnership, the Skip Barber Racing School is hosting the Melon Man Party Pack giveaway that includes signed merchandise from Chastain and a pair of memberships to the Skip Barber Racing Club. The deadline to enter the sweepstakes is August 20 and you can enter by following this link.
