As Women in Motorsports North America’s Women with Drive III summit approaches, the Skip Barber Racing School is proud to have recently developed numerous young women in racing with alums stretching multiple generations. WIMNA co-founder Lyn St. James is a 3-Day Skip Barber Racing School graduate at Mid-Ohio. Since then, the Skip Barber Racing School’s relationship with Lyn, her WIMNA co-founder Beth Paretta, CEO of Paretta Autosport, and WIMNA Executive Director Cindy Sisson has only grown. As the largest racing school in the world, the Skip Barber Racing School has played a significant part in the development of many women in racing, including Katherine Legge, two-time IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge champion Taylor Hagler, reigning Porsche Sprint Challenge North America champion Ashley Freiberg. While the previous generation of graduates competes at the highest levels of racing, the next generation is rapidly rising through the ranks with the guidance of the Skip Barber Racing School. Sunny Labelle, who currently competes in Canada’s Nissan Sentra Cup, recently attended our three-day GT school at Lime Rock Park. The inaugural champion of the Formula 1 Academy, Marta Garcia, was part of a group of women who completed a two-day program with the Skip Barber Racing School. USAC Midget racer and WIMNA ambassador Taylor Ferns took part in a three-day program at Sebring in our Formula 4 cars, her first road-racing experience.
