Lakeville, Conn. (Mar. 29). With just one race remaining in the Skip Barber Racing School Formula Western Series, the title for the championship is still for the taking. In the penultimate race round weekend at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca March 5-6, Scott Anderson not only claimed three of four pole positions, but he also earned three wins and one second place finish. With such a successful weekend, Anderson now leads the championship just four points over Thomas McGregor. Rookie Jake Eidson also had a strong weekend, earning a podium finish in each of the four races of the weekend. Eidson now jumps from 9th to 4th in the championship standings, pushing Shelby Blackstock to 5th. Blackstock earned three top five finishes and one pole position. Kyle Kaiser was the other race winner of the weekend, taking home the checker four Group 1 Race 1. Top Grand Master of the weekend Stephen Hill earned three top-five finishes and is now in the top ten championship point standings. Ross Jaffee still leads the Master point standings with a five-point lead over Douglas Tuttle, Randy Sturgeon, and Gus Doppes who are currently all tied for second.
