MILLVILLE, New Jersey – Dean Lambros swept the race week and took his first 2 wins of the season in the 2021 Skip Barber Formula Race Series at New Jersey Motorsports Park.
Wednesday’s qualifying sessions would be where Dean Lambros showed his speed as he qualified pole position for Race 1 and Race 2. Last year’s champion, Johnny Guindi, kept Lambros honest and qualified second for both races as well. Defending race winner Jeshua Alianell qualified third for Race 1 and Skip Barber Race Team driver, Lindsay Brewer, continued her improvement and qualified third for Race 2. She is looking to use the experience in the Formula Car to VIRginia International Raceway next week. Brewer will be competing in TC America powered by Skip Barber in her HPD Civic Type-R TC race car with the Skip Barber Race Team.
In Race 1, Lambros was able to defend off the field at the start and pull away to lead the race from flag to flag. Brewer would gain the most positions as she passed Alianell and Guindi to claim a second-place finish, her best finishing position of the season. Guindi would maintain a solid pace and rounded out the podium for the race.
For Race 2, Dean Lambros executed the same plan as he did in the first race and was able to win back-to-back. Brewer gained a position off the start, kept improving lap after lap, and finished in second place. Similarly, Guindi had a solid drive and found himself claiming the third place spot. The battle of the day was for the fourth place spot as Alianell and Dean's older brother, Will Lambros, would trade the position lap after lap and, in a side-by-side finish, Alianell was able to take the spot by a nose.
