Skip Barber Race Series
Winter Shootout
With over $200,000 in scholarships available to young racers, the Skip Barber Race Series Winter Shootout is one of the best opportunities for drivers to move into Formula Car racing.
The Winter Shootout will evaluate drivers on their ability to adapt to instructor feedback, consistency of their laps, their rate of improvement and technical understanding of the vehicle, along with their personal and professional conduct. The Shootout will not feature any wheel-to-wheel racing, instead it will place an emphasis on the learning-first nature of the Skip Barber Race Series and Skip Barber Racing School.
The winner of the Winter Shootout will be awarded a half-season scholarship into the 2027 Skip Barber Race Series. Jaylan Battley, the winner of the Winter Shootout preceding the 2026 season has put that prize to good use. Battley, from Houston, is currently leading the Skip Barber Race Series Driver's Championship with five wins to his name this season.
