Five Skip Barber Racing School alumni will have a chance at a NASCAR title when they arrive to Phoenix Raceway for the finale of the NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity Series, and Craftsman Truck Series seasons. Joey Logano and Tyler Reddick, who clinched their spots in the Championship 4 with wins in Las Vegas and Homestead-Miami, respectively, will carry the Skip Barber banner in the NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday. Entering the season finale, a Skip Barber Racing School graduate has won 40% of this season’s NASCAR Cup Series races with Reddick’s three victories leading the pack. In all, nine different alumni have won a NASCAR Cup Series race this year including Chris Buescher and Alex Bowman on road courses and Ross Chastain winning in Kansas. Alumni Harrison Burton earned his first-career victory with a win at Daytona International Speedway. Austin Hill and AJ Allmendinger will seek the NASCAR Xfinity Series title on Saturday night. Six different Skip Barber Racing School alumni earned a win in the Xfinity Series, accounting for 34% of this season’s races. That includes rookie sensation, alumni Connor Zilisch who won from Watkins Glen in his series debut. The final Skip Barber alumni with a shot at a title is Christian Eckes who will aim to get the weekend off to a hot start with a showdown on Friday night in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Eckes clinched his spot in the Championship 4 with a victory at Martinsville Speedway. It was his fourth win of the season and came in dominating fashion as he started on pole, swept both stages, and led 187 laps, just over 93% of the race’s distance.
