Grant Mitchell has joined the Skip Barber Race Series grid for the 2025 season. Like many of his fellow Skip Barber Race Series competitors, the 15-year-old from Illinois brings an extensive sim-racing background to the burgeoning grid. After competing in indoor karting, Grant was eager to continue his racing endeavors and like many in karting, attended the Skip Barber Racing School to make the leap from karting to Formula racing. After successfully completing his Three Day Formula Racing School at the iconic Circuit of the Americas, Mitchell knew he wanted to take the next step. “The Circuit of the Americas Three Day School was one of the best days of my life and I knew right there that I wanted to be a race car driver,” Mitchell explained. “The Skip Barber Race Series was the next step as it was the easiest way for me to get a shot in a Formula car.” Mitchell joins a grid that includes former karting competitors, the winner of the Skip Barber Racing School iRacing Shootout, and a variety of drivers with an extensive sim-racing background. “With a great mix of karting experience and a sim-racing background, Grant is a great driver to have on the Skip Barber Race Series grid in 2025,” Skip Barber Racing School Chief Marketing Officer Dan DeMonte said. “I’m eager to see what he can accomplish this season.” “Our grid is really starting to take shape and we’re approaching our capacity,” DeMonte said. “We’re careful when admitting drivers onto the grid. We want to ensure that the Skip Barber Race Series continues to offer the highest percentage of green flag racing among all formula series and the cap we place on entries allows us to do that.” The 2025 Skip Barber Race Series will begin at Sebring International Raceway in April.
