Scott Pyle will make his Skip Barber Race Series debut at the legendary Watkins Glen International. Pyle joins the Skip Barber Race Series grid with a deep background in motorsports. His grandfather was an amateur racer, and his father spent his time restoring classic cars. While working at Sonoma Raceway, Pyle got the opportunity to ride along for a hot lap, an experience that ignited his own interest in racing. While completing a master’s degree in artificial intelligence and machine learning from the University of Miami, Pyle dove into the world of sim racing. Then, with his schooling completed, he began to seek out opportunities to go racing in the real world. Like many, he found the Skip Barber Racing School. “Once I made the decision to transition from sim racing to real-world driving, I was set on open wheel formula cars,” Pyle explained. “Skip Barber stood out because it offered more than just an experience — it’s a proper development program. Their emphasis on learning and progression is exactly what I was looking for.” Like all drivers in the Skip Barber Race Series, Pyle completed the Three Day Formula Racing School and Advanced Two Day Racing School prior to his first laps of green flag racing in the iconic series. In addition to his on-track training, Pyle has undertaken numerous sessions at the Skip Barber Simulator Center, laying down laps with the center’s state-of-the-art Simcraft racing simulators. “My main focus is on becoming a better, more complete driver,” Pyle said. “I want to learn everything I can, both on and off the track, and use that to open doors for future opportunities.” Pyle, who is 24 years old, hails from Marin County, California, just north of San Francisco. “We’re thrilled to welcome Scott onto the Skip Barber Race Series grid,” Skip Barber Chief Marketing Officer Dan DeMonte said. “Scott is a great student of the sport who is incredibly dedicated.
