Skip Barber Racing School graduate Brandon Jones earned his sixth-career NASCAR Xfinity Series victory with a win from Darlington Raceway on Saturday. Jones led 24 laps after starting the 147-lap race on the front row. This win was Jones’ first since rejoining the Joe Gibbs Racing outfit at the start of the 2025 season. Additionally, Jones moved up seven spots in the NASCAR Xfinity Series standings. Fellow Skip Barber alumni Ross Chastain was completing double duty this weekend, beginning with an outing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with JR Motorsports where he finished fourth. Chastain then assumed the controls of his Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet on Sunday where he delivered a seventh-place finish, his fourth top ten finish of the season. Elsewhere in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Skip Barber graduates Connor Zilisch (6th), Christian Eckes (7th) and Sammy Smith (9th) finished in the top ten. On Sunday, four Skip Barber Racing School graduates finished the NASCAR Cup Series race in the top ten with Tyler Reddick (4th), Chris Buescher (6th), Chastain (7th), and Kyle Busch (10th) having strong runs. Reddick gained a pair of spots in the standings, putting him fifth. In Japan, Skip Barber Racing School alumni Zak Brown and his McLaren Racing outfit were taking on the Suzuka Circuit. With a pair of podium finishes from Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri the papaya crew extended their lead in the World Constructor’s Championship. Next weekend, the NTT IndyCar Series, IMSA Weathertech Sportscar Championship, and GT America fields will descend upon Long Beach, California for a weekend of action along Southern California’s coastline. NASCAR will pack the last great coliseum of Bristol Motor Speedway for a trio of races and Formula 1 will touchdown in Bahrain for the next round of 2025 season. In addition to the plethora of Skip Barber Racing School graduates who will compete this weekend, the next-generation of champions will be on-track at NOLA Motorsports Park for the next round of the Skip Barber Race Series. Ethan Booher swept the opening round from Sebring International Raceway, but a pack of promising rookies were not far behind.
