Skip Barber Racing School graduates Jordan Taylor and Ricky Taylor completed the 24 Hours of Le Mans test in their Cadillac GTP. This will be the first time the brothers share a car for the legendary endurance race. The closest the duo came to sharing a seat at Circuit de la Sarthe was in 2016 where they each drove for Corvette Racing, but in different cars. Back in the States, five Skip Barber Racing School alumni finished the NASCAR Cup Series race in the top ten with graduates Chris Buescher (2nd) and Zane Smith (7th) earning their best finishes of the season. They were joined in the top ten by fellow alumni Bubba Wallace (4th), Ross Chastain (6th), and Kyle Busch (8th). The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series took center stage on Saturday, in place of the NASCAR Xfinity Series who had the weekend off ahead of their trip to Mexico City. In the Truck Series, graduates Matt Crafton (6th) and Jake Garcia (7th) finished in the top ten. IMSA, meanwhile, was at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, sharing the undulating 2.258-mile course with USF Juniors. In Mazda MX-5 Cup, graduates Justin Adakonis and Westin Workman each had a top five finish. Reigning Skip Barber Race Series champion Oliver Wheldon scored a pair of second place finishes in USF Juniors. Graduate Ty Fisher added a top five finish in Race 1 to his weekend.
