One Skip Barber Racing School alumni scored a legendary team’s 101st victory, while another saw his team leave the opening round of the Formula 1 season atop the manufacturers' standings. After guiding Wood Brothers Racing to their first top five finish at Phoenix Raceway one week ago, Skip Barber graduate Josh Berry capped off his impressive West Coast swing by claiming his first NASCAR Cup Series victory. Berry’s Vegas triumph was the 101st win for the Wood Brothers and the first non-superspeedway win for the team since 2017. Joining Berry in the top ten on Sunday afternoon were fellow Skip Barber alumni Ross Chastain (5th), Austin Cindric (6th), Alex Bowman (7th), and AJ Allmendinger (8th). In the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Skip Barber graduates Austin Hill (4th) and Connor Zilisch (9th) finished in the top ten. Tanner Gray, meanwhile, was the best-placed Skip Barber alumni in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Across the Pacific, the 2025 Formula 1 season began at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia. There, the top honors went to Skip Barber alumni Zak Brown whose McLaren Racing outfit claimed the Sir Jack Brabham Trophy with Lando Norris winning the Australian Grand Prix. Meanwhile, the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship descended on Sebring for the 73rd Annual Twelve Hours of Sebring. In GTD Pro, the Paul Miller Racing trio of Madison Snow, Neil Verhagen, and Connor De Phillippi, all Skip Barber graduates, finished third in-class. It was a flurry of season-opening races over the weekend at Sebring. Among those kicking off their 2025 campaigns were Skip Barber alumni Colin Harrison, who scored a top five finish in Mustang Challenge; graduates Christopher Tasca and Lindsay Brewer, who each earned a podium finish in Lamborghini Super Trofeo; and Ashley Freiberg, who netted a top ten finish in Porsche Carrera Cup North America. Finally, in Trans Am, Skip Barber alumni Mia Lovell scored a podium finish from Buttonwillow in the season-opening round for the Trans Am Western Championship.
