The presence of Skip Barber Racing School alumni was felt across the motorsports’ landscape with six top-ten finishes in NASCAR’s Chicago Street Course race, a weekend sweep in USF 2000, and a top-five finish in the NTT IndyCar Series. Plus, one Skip Barber graduate who earned their career-best finish in the NASCAR Cup Series. Austin Hill opened his Chicago weekend with a fourth-place finish in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, a pair of spots behind fellow alumni Connor Zilisch (2nd) and just ahead of Sammy Smith (7th). On Sunday, Hill got back into a NASCAR Cup Series car and drove through the field to earn a career-best finish of ninth. Also, in the top-ten on Sunday were graduates Tyler Reddick (3rd), Kyle Busch (5th), AJ Allmendinger (6th), Alex Bowman (8th), and Ross Chastain (10th). Alumni Michael McDowell won Stage 1 after starting on the front row. There was a full complement of open wheel racing at Mid-Ohio with the July 4th weekend offering a perfect opportunity for the crowds to gather around the 2.258-mile course. They were treated to a stellar show by Skip Barber Racing School alumni who swept the weekend in USF 2000 as Caleb Gafrarar and Jack Jeffers dominated the trio of races. Gafrarar was victorious in Race 1 while Jeffers took home the top honors in Races 2 & 3. Former Skip Barber Race Series competitor Jeshua Alianell added a pair of top-ten finishes to his rookie campaign in USF 2000. Reigning Skip Barber Race Series champion Oliver Wheldon scored a sixth-place finish in USF Juniors. Alumni Ty Fisher’s third-place result in Race 1 was the fourth podium-finish of his season. In the NTT IndyCar Series, graduates Colton Herta (4th) and Kyle Kirkwood (8th) finished in the top-ten. In Indy NXT, alumni Myles Rowe was tenth. Lastly, alumni Zak Brown and his McLaren Racing outfit scored another 1-2 finish at the British Grand Prix.
