Throughout the 2024 season, alumni of the Skip Barber Race Series have earned numerous accolades, career-defining accomplishments, and countless race victories. All of the driver’s below began their racing journey by competing in the Skip Barber Race Series.
Colton Herta
Herta ended his 2024 NTT IndyCar Series with a win from Nashville and a career-high finish of second place in the standings. In addition to the five podium finishes he scored with Andretti Global, Herta added an overall win in the 12 Hours of Sebring and a podium finish at the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The Californian finished the NTT IndyCar Series season on a hot streak with six top-five finishes in the final seven races.
Josef Newgarden
Newgarden captured wins in a pair of crown jewel races in 2024 with victories in the Indianapolis 500 and the Rolex 24 at Daytona. He added a win at Gateway and podium finishes at Road America, Nashville, Portland, and Iowa to his 2024 record. The Rolex 24 at Daytona was Newgarden’s first and it came in his debut in the series’ top class.
AJ Allmendinger
For the second time in Allmendinger’s career, he reached the Championship Four of the NASCAR Xfinity Series, ending his 2024 season third in the standings. That result is Allmendinger’s best finish in any of the top three NASCAR series. He was propelled to that result by a victory in Las Vegas that sent him to the Championship Four and thirteen top-ten finishes in the regular season that vaulted him into the playoffs.
Santino Ferrucci
After a 2023 season that saw Ferrucci score just one top-ten finish (a third-place result in the Indianapolis 500), he rebounded and earned 11 top-ten finishes in 2024, including his maiden pole position in Portland. That performance helped Ferrucci earn his career-best finish in the NTT IndyCar Series. In September, Ferrucci inked a multi-year contract extension with AJ Foyt’s legendary team.
Sergio Perez
While his season is not yet cemented, Perez has claimed four podium finishes in the 2024 Formula 1 Season. Upcoming for the Mexican driver is the Las Vegas Grand Prix where he finished third last year.
