Skip Barber Racing School graduate Tyler Reddick executed a last-lap, last-corner, pass to win the NASCAR Cup Series at Homestead-Miami Speedway, sealing his spot in NASCAR’s Championship 4 in the process. Reddick now joins fellow Skip Barber alumni Joey Logano with a shot at the title in two weeks. In addition to Reddick, Skip Barber Racing School graduate Austin Hill punched his ticket to the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship 4 with a win at Homestead-Miami Speedway. This is now the second consecutive week that Skip Barber alumni advanced to the Championship 4 in both the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series. Skip Barber alumni AJ Allmendinger, who will race for a title in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, finished eighth in the NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday. Fellow Skip Barber graduates Alex Bowman (7th), and Carson Hocevar (9th), also finished in the top ten. Additionally, Allmendinger was tenth in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race. Alumni Christian Eckes was ninth in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race. A clean run from Eckes at Martinsville would ensure that at least one Skip Barber graduate is in contention for the championship in NASCAR’s three highest levels. Chandler Smith and Sammy Smith are still seeking a spot in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship 4. If the cards fall right at Martinsville this weekend, there is a chance that the Xfinity Series Championship 4 is locked out by Skip Barber alumni.
